Personal Financial Management

After a bankruptcy case is filed, but prior to discharge, an individual must complete a 2-hour, personal financial management instructional course. The course is required under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. It must be completed; otherwise, the case will close without discharge.

The purpose of the instruction course is to provide educational material to those who have just filed for bankruptcy relief. The goal is to educate debtors so that they never find themselves in debt again. Most debtors have found value in the class and wished that they had received the information earlier in life.

The source that I recommend to complete the personal financial instruction course is www.1AfterFiling.com.
